What is CBCS?

Cot-Based Cloning and Sequencing (CBCS) is an invention that should greatly accelerate the study of the genes (i.e., DNA sequences that carry hereditary information) and genomes (i.e., the collective DNA sequences of an organism including sequences that are not genes) of most organisms.  Compared to current DNA sequencing techniques, CBCS reduces the cost of obtaining the unique DNA sequence information from complex genomes by hundreds of millions of dollars.  Further description of CBCS and its advantages over existing technologies can be found in the following sources:
